Management Trainee at Toyota North America,
Sydney Rizo is a native of Harrison Township, Michigan, and a recent graduate of Northwood University, where she earned both her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and her Master of Business Administration in just four years, completing her MBA in July 2025. A dedicated and driven student-athlete, Sydney was a Division II collegiate soccer player and captain of the Northwood University women’s soccer team. Her leadership on and off the field reflects her strong work ethic, time management skills, and commitment to excellence.
Beyond athletics, Sydney was deeply involved in campus life. She served as Marketing Director for the Northwood University Fashion Showcase, leading a team of five to break attendance records with over 500 attendees—a 25% increase from the prior year. She also held the position of Signature Events Chair for the Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS), the largest student-run outdoor new car show in North America. In this role, she successfully coordinated panel events with top automotive companies including CDK Global, DSMA, Penske Automotive, CARs, COX Automotive, Dorman Products, and Paragon Honda & Acura. Her efforts led to a nomination for the CDK Global ‘Paving the Way’ Award, which honors women making an impact in the automotive industry.
Sydney’s athletic accolades include being named Second Team All-Conference, as well as leading her team to historic achievements: winning the GMAC Conference Championship (2023), GMAC Tournament Championship (2023), and securing the program’s first-ever NCAA tournament appearance.
Following the completion of her graduate studies, Sydney is excited to begin her professional career. In September 2025, she will be relocating to Glen Burnie, Maryland, to join Toyota North America as a Management Trainee, where she looks forward to bringing her leadership experience, business acumen, and passion for the automotive industry.
